Greetings!
I recently purchased a 1968 Barracuda Fastback, Formula S 383 4bbl-4spd. I had to have it appraised for the insurance, and was told it was pretty rare. This made me start looking to find out just how rare, and that led me to you. I would like to compare notes and maybe combine forces to find out all I can about my car. Will try to scan some photos tomorrow (sunday, May 24).

Hello
Sorry about the delay getting back to you. I've been meaning to do this for a while now. My name is Ed L. but most people just call me JAKE. I live in Detroit, MI.
Now on to the important stuff! I bought my Barracuda on May 5, 1998. It was a beautiful, sunny day. The first really nice day that we had seen around here for quite some time. So I took it as a good omen, and made THE GREATEST PURCHASE OF MY LIFE!!!
I have a connection to a local car collector, Lou Bressler at Lou's Car Gallery (how's that for a free plug to a great guy!). When I talked to him on the phone, and told him that I was finally looking for something in his area of expertise, he simply said "Why don't you just come by and see me, I think I just might have the perfect car for you." When I got there, (in about 5 minutes!) he was standing out in front of the building swinging a set of Chrysler keys around his finger. Needless to say I started to get a little nervous. He led me into his showroom without saying a single word.
Then I saw her. I am the proud owner of a 1968 Plymouth Barracuda!
She is a FORMULA S!
She is a 383 SUPER COMMANDO!
She is a 4 SPEED MANUAL TRANS!
She is a FASTBACK!
She is ELECTRIC BLUE!
And from the looks of it, she has a twin sister in Maryland!
From everything I have been able to find out, it is a correct numbers matching car. All chrome trim and body emblems are the originals and in amazing condition. I STRONGLY suggest you get yours appraised soon. When I got mine done for the insurance, I was shocked to find out how rare these cars of ours are! Mine was appraised at $X!; A huge jump from what I actually paid!
There are a few things done to the car that has taken a bit off the "factory-original" part. The Hurst shifter has been replaced with a Mr. Gasket speed-shift. The dashboard was replaced with another correct one, (I think) but some "&$^@_*>" cut a hole between the glovebox (just a door, no actual box behind it) and the climate control and put a LED clock in, and that doesn't even work anymore.
I haven't looked under the back seat for the build sheet yet, but I will soon. Right now I'm just having too much fun driving her every single day. The picture that is attached isn't the greatest, I am going to have some nice ones taken this week and I will send them to you in the hopes of getting them onto your page.
Thanks for getting back to me. I would appreciate any helpful ideas you have on finding out everything I can about our beautiful creatures.

Subj: Finally!!!!
