Hi,
I have a 1968 383s fastback that I bought new. The car was raced at Lions drag strip into the early 70's. The original engine was destroyed and replaced about 1972. I sold the car to a friend in 1973 and he used it as a daily driver until about 1980. He was the original owner of one of the hemi super stock darts in 1968 and started to convert the barracuda to a super stock replica. The car was never completed and I was able to
re-aquire the car about 5 years ago.
I am just finishing the car at this time. Unfortunatly for me, and anyone who is a fan of 383s cars, the car was
tubbed, the original 383s engine is long gone, and the rear end was replaced with a dana 60, though I still have the numbers matching 4 speed and bell housing. The car was ordered with no console. The front fenders and hood have been replaced with original superstock fiberglass items, but I do have the steel ones. I do have a complete rear clip from the doors back to splice on if I ever get around to it. I have the original air cleaner, pie plate, intake manifold, valve covers, heads, exhaust manifolds, oil pan and accessories.I didn't want power brakes, so I had to order it with drum brakes. I still have the original steel wheels and dog dish hubcaps. I also have the original red streak spare tire mounted on the original rim. I will try to send some pictures. I have attached a pencil tracing of the fender tag.

Hi,
Here are a few pictures. I will have a couple of current pictures that are being developed now. The number in the filename is the date the pictures were taken. The 1977 pictures were taken in California when my friend owned the car. The 1993 picture was how it looked when I brought it from California to Utah.
I will get some pictures together. I even have a picture taken the day I brought the car home from the dealership. I also have movies of racing in the 60's!!!
I also own a red 1968 fastback that I bought in 1976. After several engine and transmission combinations, the car is now a 440 6 pack with 727 and 8 3/4
rearend. It has 280,000 miles now and I drive it regularly.
I also restored a 68 convertible 318 for my wife. It is red to match my fastback and we drive them both to Mopar shows here in the west.
3/28/99: Added 3 current pictures of the 383s and also included a picture of his wifes 318 convertible and a couple of his 440 6-pack fastback.
